Dear Parents

Girls Football
Our Y5/6 girls football team are getting themselves ready for their County Cup final against Greenfields Primary tomorrow at the Shrewsbury football ground. We would welcome as many supporters as possible to cheer the girls on. Parking is free with a £3 cost for entry and a program. Kick off is at 4:30pm however, the doors will open at 9:30am until 6:00pm for a range of other finals.

School Meals
Golden tickets are back!!!!
For the next two weeks your child has a chance to win a golden ticket. The winning ticket will show a free child pass and a half price pass for an accompanying adult, to have a go at Footgolf. This is held at Horsehay Village Golf Centre.  For your child to be in with a chance of winning a ticket, all your child needs to do is have a school  meal on Tuesday or Thursday.

John Muir
On Thursday, Year 5 were very lucky with the weather.  After an epic walk down to Ironbridge, they found lots of different creatures living in Lydebrook Dingle.  They were very pleased to find Caddis Fly, as this means the water is fairly clean!  The next John Muir session is on Thursday 23 May - the children will be walking to Coalport.
Can we remind parents that money is still outstanding for this and we would appreciate for outstanding payments to be sent in to the school office as soon as possible please.

KS2 SATs
Next week sees our Year 6 children taking their Key Stage 2 tests. They have worked incredibly hard to prepare for these. I would like them all to relax this weekend, get out and enjoy the fine weather (which is promised) and come to school refreshed on Monday. Hopefully, the attached poem (click here) will help a little too – it is how we all feel.

Sports kit
We are missing a range of sports kit from competitions before Easter. If your child has represented the school before the Easter holidays could you please have a look for any purple and yellow tops, shorts, vests and socks. Thank you.

Residential Visits
May we politely request that any students in Year 2 and in Year 5 who have not yet returned their consent form and deposits please do so immediately. Thank you.

Parent Forum
In line with our constant aim to develop our parental engagement, we are looking to set up a parent forum in order to help us develop a home school agreement. As your views and opinions are very important to us. Next Friday we will be sending home a flyer, which allows you to indicate if you wish to be part of this process. The forum sessions are planned for Thursday 13 June and Friday 14 June at 2:45pm. These will be informal discussions in order to receive parental views for our upcoming new agreement for September.

Parking
Staff have noticed parents and taxis parking on the drive at the end of the school day and also using spaces outside Kids 4 Us.  Could we politely remind all parents there should be NO vehicles coming down the school drive unless you have prior permission. This is to keep all children safe.

This week’s winners of the attendance awards are as follows:
