29 March 2019

Dear Parents

Cross Country
On Wednesday, 28 brave runners from Key Stage 2 competed in the first of the 3 Telford and Wrekin events this year. All showed tremendous courage in completing the race and it was lovely to see new faces embracing the challenge. Well done to all.

Running Club
The after school Running Club is currently in the process of completing a half marathon challenge where they run a mile each week and build up to aggregating a half marathon. I was delighted today to give out wrist bands to all those children who have now completed the first 6 miles of the challenge.

Philip Strickland
Congratuations and many thanks to Philip Strickland who, last Sunday, completed the Ironbridge half-marathon in 2 hours and raised much needed funds to go towards enhancing equipment for the children to use on the playground. We are very grateful for his efforts and to all those who sponsored him.

School dinners
As of Monday 1st April the cost of school dinners will rise to £2.30 so please take this into consideration when sending payment into school. There will also be a new menu in place when we return after the Easter holidays, copies of this will be distributed during week commencing 8 April.

Y4 Swimming
Y4 completed their swimming sessions at Abraham Darby pool this week. Everyone has worked really hard to improve their water confidence and swimming skills over the 10 weeks. The children have taken part in a range of swimming activities including a swimathon, playing water polo and trying synchronised swimming as they worked towards their aquatic skills award. They have learnt how to stay safe in and around water completing a self-rescue award. The children will be bringing home their certificates recognising their achievements shortly. Fantastic attitude and effort Y4 – well done!

Year 4 Parents Assembly
We are looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday morning (2 April) at 9.15am for our Parents Assembly during which we will share our time at Condover with you. You are also welcome to come to class afterwards and stay for tea/coffee/cake.

 Foodbank

Thank you for all of your donations this term. Once again we have a significant donation to pass on to those in need within our community. The Food Bank will be collecting from School during the last week of term so please keep your donations coming until then.

School Discos
Your child should have come home with a letter regarding our school discos which are being held next Friday. Please remember to send in the £2 and consent form no later than Wednesday 3 April to allow us to have a complete list of those attending. Thank you.

After School Clubs
After school clubs for this term have now finished, we hope the children have enjoyed taking part. Details of the clubs available for next term have now been sent home and all replies, with payment where relevant, need to be returned to school by Monday 8 April.
