Dear Parents

Year 4 Residential Visit
The Y4 visit to Condover was very successful this week. It saw many children face and overcome physical and mental challenges. I am very fortunate that so many staff were queueing up to accompany the trip and I am grateful for their commitment. I hope all the children and staff have chance to recover over the weekend and catch up on some sleep.
Please could parents ensure they pay off balances as soon as possible if they haven’t already done so – we are currently owed about £800.

Comic Relief
It was great to see so much red in school today as the children and staff raised money for Comic Relief. A total of £230.75 was raised for the charity. Thank you all for your generous support.

Kit Sponsor
With the recent success of our girls team in the U11s County Final (being played at the Shrewsbury ground) and the forthcoming Telford and Wrekin semi-final for our boys (with the final being played The Bucks Head), we are looking for a kit sponsor for a new kit. This will be a great opportunity for your business to be displayed in many local school matches and tournaments, including the possibility of media coverage in the finals. If you or anyone else is interested, please get in touch.

Year 3/4 Boys Football Match
Last Friday saw the first match for our Y3/4 boys team this academic year. They travelled to Sir Alexander Fleming Primary in wet and cold conditions. It was the first time that half the team have ever played a competitive football match but this didn’t stop them from getting right into the mix of the match. Sir Alexander Fleming had more experience of playing together, which proved to be a good challenge. It was fantastic to see the boys not shy away from the tackle and in the second half improve so much in their footballing abilities. Unfortunately it was a loss but I’m sure the boys took away invaluable experience. Thank you to all who came and supported in the rain.

Cross Country
It has been great to see a flurry of cross country entries come in the past week – we still have a few spaces available. A coach will take your child to and from the event with plenty of John Fletcher staff there to support. This will be a great experience for any child to take part in whether they walk, jog or run against other schools from across Telford and Wrekin. Please see the office or Mr Cowdrill for more information.

Friends Disco
Please keep your eyes open for information about the next disco organised by the Friends Association. Details will come out next week.

Attendance Update
This week’s winners of the attendance awards are as follows:
