Our Ethos and Vision
At John Fletcher of Madeley Primary School we aim to provide all children with a wide range of experiences that will allow them to develop academically, spiritually and socially to their full potential, within a Christian context. We want to give everybody in school the greatest possible opportunity of being able to contribute positively to both the local and the global communities, becoming more independent and responsible and having a social conscience - showing respect, consideration and care for each other and the environment.
Our ethos is of a broadly Christian nature, although we value all cultures and faiths. In accordance with its history, the school will continue to work closely and strengthen links with both the Anglican and Methodist churches.
Above all, we want to create a primary school within the community where the children feel happy and secure, love to learn and are prepared, confident and willing to accept challenges in a safe, stimulating environment.
We define “Spirituality” as the way in which everyone is enabled and encouraged to develop our ability to understand ourselves and each other; to reflect on our life experiences (referring to the distinctively Christian values upheld by the school); to have a greater awareness of the wider world around us; and to behave in a way that upholds all that we believe and value.
